Childhood fear and anxiety is a normal part of development, and it helps children develop useful coping and problem-solving skills to deal with negative emotions and unpleasant feelings, according to some area psychologists who say they also understand that parents and others shouldn’t joke around when the little one complains about monsters hiding under the bed.
